Well, it's that time of the year again, when we all sweat like crazy so we can go look at oddities, buy everything FROM EVERYONE (no corporations allowed), and talk it up about any and all things. The yard sale is here.   It starts August 7th - August 10th.  It secretly starts the week before that! LOL. Traveling and Living Differently: A Few Words of Inspiration We took 2005 Gillig City Bus (that was bought at auction from someone for $3900, then sold to us for $5900), and we turned it into an apartment on wheels! When we moved Frau Fowler  (it took 3 x 53' foot trailer trucks), we turned a city bus into a house so that we could move our business, our home and our family, and we lived in the bus while we fixed our new Frau Fowler building up! Today marks the celebration of the abolishment of slavery; of course, this is a noble thing as slavery is one of the greatest tragedies a man can do to another man. We should celebrate no slavery. After the Civil War and slavery was ended, the blacks were given US Citizenship, a creation that manifested from an alteration to the US Constitution. Off grid! We've been off grid for many months now.  It's been really good, although it seems pretty daunting to think about for most. Listen up!  It's true that Ben is an actual mechanic (a diesel one and a real goldminer), and that I would have never been able to have off gird power with a big generator by myself!  Since we have machines to operate for Frau Fowler, our power need is higher than most people! But a battery system and a few windmills, with a small generator can get most people through just about anything; especially if you heat your place with wood and build a house in a way that really does not need air condition.  It also allows people to take their health back. I'll explain more below. Book of Five Rings The Definitive Interpretation of Miyamoto Mushashi's Classic Book of Strategy (Also a profound history lesson.) by Stephen Kaufman I'm not really into interpretations or others trying to interpret anything for me, but since I cannot read Japanese, this book was worth reading.  He is Japan's greatest warrior!  It reminds me a lot of Sun Tzu.
