    My husband and I have been using this for many years now. Our absolute favorite and our oral health has been exemplary!! Each time we see dentist, we get compliments on how healthy our teeth our with so very little plaque. Hate to admit: thanks to covid and my own not liking to visit doctor, went 4 years with out dental check-up… no cavities, great gums and minimal plaque build-up. (I don’t advise going that long w/o seeing dentist. )

I am recommending these tooth powders to my daughter, who has small children learning to brush their teeth. These nontoxic solutions are essential alternatives to swallowing fluoride and chlorine in traditional toothpastes, something I am glad my grandchildren will not endure.     I've used this for a few years now and I would not back to regular toothpaste. I love the convenience, the flavor, the way my mouth feels afterwards, and the ability to keep some with me in the car and not needing water to brush my teeth after a meal.     What I don't like, paste. I grew up on the classic mint paste/gel and brushed because we needed to. Fast forward to travel as an adult, and transporting paste/gel is a pain in my opinion. What I love! I liked the idea of powder, you can take as much or as little very easy. I tried making my own and it was pretty good, then I bought (at the time, from Amazon) some Frau Fowler as a comparison. I was instantly hooked. I bought the sample pack (I tried to get the offered free sampler, but that never happened) with my second order to try the amazing looking options. I hope this product stays around as I never want to run out. P. S. I switch between the Mouth Medic and this one regularly.

    I love this tooth powder. I got turned onto it when I lived in Denver & worked in a Whole Foods. Now I'm in Texas and had to order it online. The only improvement I would make would be to add a desiccant with the powder. It's very humid where I live & the powder tends to become clumpy.     The cleaning power of Frau Fowler tooth powders is amazing. (I would say unparalleled but I haven't tried all the other new powder brands.) I used Flanagan's Microhydrin for decades until it became unavailable.



    I've used several packets of the Mouth Medic flavor and I prefer it to this, but after a few days, this one will be just as comforting to use.



    My bottom teeth--inside mouth whether the glands secret plaque forming base--are as clean as the day I get them professionally cleaned. I think the after eating can't brush mints are partly responsible for keeping them this way.

    I also love the Orange and Mouth Medic, but German Mint is my favorite. My dentist keeps saying my teeth and gums are looking better all the time. I think it's genius to take in consideration the alkaline level in your mouth by leaving some behind to keep your mouth from being acidic which causes all kinds of bad issues. I will only use this product for the rest of my life, I love it.

    My whole family (me, wife, and 3 & 5 year old kids) are big fans of the licorice flavor and this is just the best tasting thing ever. Love it so much. I also just started to do the no rinse thing, and it's great. My father was visiting and normally uses sensodyne, but we didn't have any here and he was using another brand of toothpaste. His teeth started to get sensative after about a month and I told him to try out this tooth powder. He did, and immediately the sensitivity went away. He's now a convert.

The German mint is my fav, but its a toss up because at different times I feel like a kid in an ice cream shop when I brush my teeth because I have 3 air tight jars I put the tooth powers in. The other two are Orange and Cinnamon. Every time I go for my 6 month cleaning my report gets better from my dentist since using Frau Fowler's amazing tooth powder.     This product is HANDS DOWN my favorite flavor of the tooth and gum powder line at FF. The natural peppermint and anise have a very delightful, clean taste as they clean and the fennel brings it all together. This is one I truly and instinctively never minded not rinsing from my mouth and it's an easy one to pop in as a midday remineralizer if you are having problems starting with that.



    Lots of great flavors in the line-up, but this is by far the "softest" and easy for anyone who was a licorice lover growing up. Five out of five stars, I'd give six if I could.

    Compared to tooth paste, I will never go back. Tooth paste has a strange aftertaste and always leaves me feeling thirsty. With the powder, and I have the Licorice Mint, well the aftertaste is fantastic. Nothing over powering about the flavor or taste of the powder.

    I like to switch off between powders and the Licorice Mint is excellent used in tandem with the Power Mint, Botanical Mint and Mouth Medic (which I usually reserve for any residual sensitivity or if I have hurt my mouth in any way). Licorice Mint gives me the licorice hit I love, while still delivering a refreshingly mint flavor.

I was so used to the toothpaste my dentist recommended. I am officially obsessed with Frau Fowler Tooth Power, and I love all the flavors, especially the cinnamon clove! This product makes me very excited to brush my teeth - and my teeth are happy about all of it! My whole mouth is happy!Note: I LOVE the packaging! However, due to high humidity where I live, my containers wouldn't open and I had to get into them with a chef's knife!! LOL :) Now I do not screw the tins closed, but just leave the lid on lightly.

    I love the taste and the whitening power but find it a bit unsanitary to use the powder as i think it was intended. I use only a small amount every day in a separate container. Not sure how this can be resolved by the manufacturer but I'm not a marketing genius either! I love that the ingredients are natural and that it's a small company. I always prefer to support small businesses rather than large corporations and this is one company and tooth powder that I will be telling my friends about, for sure

    Really love how this tooth powder makes my mouth feel clean! The flavor is tasty and sometimes I just swish a bit in my mouth as a mouthwash as well as brushing with it. After brushing, my teeth feel so very clean and my hygengist has been quite happy with the state of my teeth over the past year or so I have been using it. My only concern is if you are sensitive to the taste of salt it might be too strong.

    I have extremely sensitive teeth. So sensitive that I normally use a prescription toothpaste and hate the flavor of all of them. I figured is give this a try to use together and it's amazing. It took me about a week to get used to the salty taste and now I barely notice it.I did take 1 star away because of the packaging. It need some type of flip lid but other then that. Great product. I personally am going to transfer it into a breath mint container.

My teeth never felt cleaner, and I no longer have sensitivity after brushing.If you have a difficult time getting the lid off. It's because it is not aligned. Simply snap down the lid so it aligns with the can and twist off.

    I accidentally bought the licorice flavor, My daughter likes this toothpaste but prefers mint. My mother 60's on the other hand loved this flavor. Both are very strong and salty. We have noticed my daughters canker sores are very few and far between since starting with this toothpaste , She used Earthpaste for years before, which I do prefer. But I bought this to improve her teeth, she is prone to cavities. We will have to wait and see if her back molars remineralize, but we are trying. Teeth do feel strong after using.

It took a few days getting used to the powder feel and not rinsing after brushing, and I have used it with a power brush and a bamboo brush, both work well. This powder does the job, cleans well, removes stains and leaves a pleasantly fresh aftertaste. No issues with sensitivity, the salt does not bother me. Love the Licorice and may try Mouth Medic next. Reading complaints about the tin, spilling and clumping, I transfer 1 teaspoon at a time to a mini Altoid tin for daily use, so any accident would be minimal, and is easy to open and close.

There's actually a warning on regular toothpaste not to swallow the toothpaste, and if you do call poison contro😳I had gotten a few samples of all the flavors they offer at the health food store, and chose the Licorice Mint. It's a great flavor.It is even recommended to carry a small amount around with you to use throughout the day, if you need to freshen your breath. Great product!

    I like almost everything about this product except for its high maintenance quality. I left the lid off the product while I drew a bath and some moisture accumulated in the bathroom. Next thing I knew, the tooth powder was clumpy and wet. I never ever dip a wet toothbrush in the powder as I feel that's unsanitary. So instead I always dump a little bit in my hand first and use it from my hand. Now I have a clumpy, moist, weird, mess of a product on my hands and feel like it's growing bacteria and I've wasted money. Don't make my mistake. Always always close the lid because this stuff absorbs moisture from the air.

    From the first time I used this tooth powder, I knew I was going to like it. I've never been a fan of strong minty flavors. The gentle mint licorice is pleasant. I knew it was effective at cleaning teeth when I heard it squeak, as in squeaky clean. This isn't for the faint of heart. You don't rinse! It took me a minute to wrap my mind on that. So far , I've used it four days with no ill side effects.

    I got this because with my mouth drying out so bad from sjogrens my teeth get a lot of funk going on and regular toothpaste doesn't seem to quite get it. I don't plan to use this every day.. kind of as needed. I was worried about the taste (I got the licorice one) but its actually a pretty pleasant flavor. It was salty tasting but not bad at all. And it wasn't overwhelmingly foamy like normal toothpaste which was kind of nice. If you're on the fence I'd say give it a shot. It makes your teeth feel nice and smooth like they just got cleaned. My kids thought it was funny they could hear squeaking while I was brushing.

    Great flavors, ease of use, my mouth feels clean and refreshed! When I was a child (50+ years ago) we used Dr. Lion's Tooth Powder. I searched all over, but it was no where to be found. Then I found Frau Fowler on Amazon and I couldn't be happier, so I thought. Then my s/s order didn't arrive before I ran out and I had to use regular tooth paste for a few days. Well, I was in misery - mouth felt like paste, foamy, couldn't rinse enough times to get rid of the feeling and taste. Today my s/s arrived and I am so happy. This stuff is the greatest. I thought I loved it before (I've been using it for about a year) but since I ran out now I know how much I love this product and I will make sure I never run out again!!! Thanks for a great product.

    I stumbled across this product when I was searching for licorice flavored toothpaste: I ordered one of the licorice flavor and one of the samurai citrus mint. I love the flavor of both: the licorice is clean and unadulterated. The mint reminds me of the flavor of juicy fruit gum. The only thing I don't like about it is it seems to take the top layer of enamel off of the teeth. I've noticed increased sensitivity to hot and cold foods and liquids since using this product. However, it whitens and cleans between the teeth better than regular toothpaste and the flavor is great: not spitting means the flavor lasts just like a candy breath freshener would.

My teeth feel great after brushing with this powder. i also really like the packaging! Very happy customer!! Also be sure to not ever brush too hard and vigorously. Be gentle and dont be in a hurry while brushing. Tooth powders are the best but they can be abrasive on your teeth/gums if you arent thoughtful and cognizant about being thorough but gentle.

I’ve used several natural tooth powders and it is comparable. I tried their sample packets and the charcoal one was the only one I didn’t mind the taste. I even added some charcoal to the one I purchased to try and enhance the flavor...to no avail. The container is a pain to open. I would suggest you try the samples if you can and find a flavor you prefer if you are thinking about buying this product.

    I like this product a lot, but not as a tooth powder. Come to find out tooth powders are not my thing.That being said I did find an awesome alternative use for this! I have sinus problems and I often get a sore throat due to drainage. I gargle with warm saltwater to help sooth my throat. I decided to add some of this to half a cup of warm saltwater mainly to help with the taste, but it also has peppermint oil in it which has pain relieving qualities.Let me tell you that it work a lot better than just plain warm saltwater and leaves you with a better taste in your mouth too!

    Even after reading all the good reviews, I didn’t expect much from this product and was really just looking for a light weight travel toothpaste. I ordered the Licorice Mint flavor, tried it, and this will now be the only toothpaste I ever use.I have sensitive teeth and gums and I didn’t have any problems at all adjusting to this powdered tooth cleaner. My teeth felt cleaner than they ever have with toothpaste.The only drawback is the circular plastic tub the powder comes in. It’s extremely difficult to open. Definitely not something you want to struggle with twice a day. I solved the problem by transferring the powder to a small Tupperware container. You could probably also just use a Ziploc bag.

    Love this! The flavor is great. I was using (and still do) the cinnamon one but once I tried the licorice, I was hooked on that flavor. This does take some getting used to because you do not rinse your mouth after brushing. This is so the product can stay on your teeth and gums and help build your enamel back up. I bought it because I was having a lot of tooth sensitivity as well as developing mouth sores--pretty much like you'd get if you had eaten a lot of acidic foods like lemons. After some reading, I realized the fluoride could be contributing to the frequent mouth issues and that this product could help build up my enamel and decrease the sensitivity, so I decided to go off commercial toothpaste and try this. It's been really good. I don't have the tooth sensitivity anymore and the frequency of sores has decreased, both of which I attribute to getting off the chemicals in commercial pastes and using this product to go more natural. If you hate black licorice, this flavor won't be for you, but there are a bunch of others to choose from.

I love Frau Fowler, because it seems they share these concerns, as well, but instead of remaining a persnickety consumer, she fixed the problem. This is impressive and VERY appreciated by those of us that prefer to complain while we keep searching and trying.I have Mouth Medic and Licorice Mint. I use them interchangeably. Both are wonderful. I have been using Frau Fowler for about three weeks. I will continue to use!!! In the meantime, my teeth do get very shiny. My sensitivity is noticeably reduced, though not gone. I read that with long term use, the sensitivity will continue to diminish. The whiteness is great. I am not a bleacher, but I do hate how stained my teeth can get from tea, coffee. I read in other reviews it's so salty but I didn't really find that. I have been using natural toothpastes and powders for a long time tho.For a traveller like me it's great. I have been eliminating plastic from my toiletries and so I am happy about the tin. It could use a redesign but it's not as bad as I thought.     Unfortunately I found out that I needed some deep scaling when I went to the dentist. The mouthwash that they gave me had a side effect of yellowing the teeth among other nasty things. Since using this tooth powder I can tell the difference. My gums are no longer sensitive nor bleeding. When I go back to the periodontist I Will update this review to let you know how the visit went.

    My 1st ever tooth powder, looking for a cruelty-free, plastic-free solution to conventional toothpaste which comes in plastic tubes. It took a few days getting used to the powder feel and not rinsing after brushing, and I have used it with a power brush and a bamboo brush, both work well. This powder does the job, cleans well, removes stains and leaves a pleasantly fresh aftertaste. No issues with sensitivity, the salt does not bother me. Love the Licorice and may try Mouth Medic next. Reading complaints about the tin, spilling and clumping, I transfer 1 teaspoon at a time to a mini Altoid tin for daily use, so any accident would be minimal, and is easy to open and close.

    Feels great using a toothpaste that is actually healthy. So healthy, that you don't even need to rinse it out after brushing. Can't imagine not rinsing after using regular toothpaste. There's actually a warning on regular toothpaste not to swallow the toothpaste, and if you do call poison contro😳I had gotten a few samples of all the flavors they offer at the health food store, and chose the Licorice Mint. It's a great flavor.It is even recommended to carry a small amount around with you to use throughout the day, if you need to freshen your breath. Great product!

    I like almost everything about this product except for its high maintenance quality. I left the lid off the product while I drew a bath and some moisture accumulated in the bathroom. Next thing I knew, the tooth powder was clumpy and wet. I never ever dip a wet toothbrush in the powder as I feel that's unsanitary. So instead I always dump a little bit in my hand first and use it from my hand. Now I have a clumpy, moist, weird, mess of a product on my hands and feel like it's growing bacteria and I've wasted money. Don't make my mistake. Always always close the lid because this stuff absorbs moisture from the air.

    From the first time I used this tooth powder, I knew I was going to like it. I've never been a fan of strong minty flavors. The gentle mint licorice is pleasant. I knew it was effective at cleaning teeth when I heard it squeak, as in squeaky clean. This isn't for the faint of heart. You don't rinse! It took me a minute to wrap my mind on that. So far , I've used it four days with no ill side effects.

    I got this because with my mouth drying out so bad from sjogrens my teeth get a lot of funk going on and regular toothpaste doesn't seem to quite get it. I don't plan to use this every day.. kind of as needed. I was worried about the taste (I got the licorice one) but its actually a pretty pleasant flavor. It was salty tasting but not bad at all. And it wasn't overwhelmingly foamy like normal toothpaste which was kind of nice. If you're on the fence I'd say give it a shot. It makes your teeth feel nice and smooth like they just got cleaned. My kids thought it was funny they could hear squeaking while I was brushing.

    Great flavors, ease of use, my mouth feels clean and refreshed! When I was a child (50+ years ago) we used Dr. Lion's Tooth Powder. I searched all over, but it was no where to be found. Then I found Frau Fowler on Amazon and I couldn't be happier, so I thought. Then my s/s order didn't arrive before I ran out and I had to use regular tooth paste for a few days. Well, I was in misery - mouth felt like paste, foamy, couldn't rinse enough times to get rid of the feeling and taste. Today my s/s arrived and I am so happy. This stuff is the greatest. I thought I loved it before (I've been using it for about a year) but since I ran out now I know how much I love this product and I will make sure I never run out again!!! Thanks for a great product.

    I stumbled across this product when I was searching for licorice flavored toothpaste: I ordered one of the licorice flavor and one of the samurai citrus mint. I love the flavor of both: the licorice is clean and unadulterated. The mint reminds me of the flavor of juicy fruit gum. The only thing I don't like about it is it seems to take the top layer of enamel off of the teeth. I've noticed increased sensitivity to hot and cold foods and liquids since using this product. However, it whitens and cleans between the teeth better than regular toothpaste and the flavor is great: not spitting means the flavor lasts just like a candy breath freshener would.

    I LOVE this tooth powder. I'm a big fan of tooth powders b/c i avoid flouride and glycerin and like all things as natural and clean as possible. My teeth feel great after brushing with this powder. i also really like the packaging! Very happy customer!! Also be sure to not ever brush too hard and vigorously. Be gentle and dont be in a hurry while brushing. Tooth powders are the best but they can be abrasive on your teeth/gums if you arent thoughtful and cognizant about being thorough but gentle.

    I wanted to love this product. I bought a container with the Anise/mint flavor and did not like the taste at all. The product itself is fine. I’ve used several natural tooth powders and it is comparable. I tried their sample packets and the charcoal one was the only one I didn’t mind the taste. I even added some charcoal to the one I purchased to try and enhance the flavor...to no avail. The container is a pain to open. I would suggest you try the samples if you can and find a flavor you prefer if you are thinking about buying this product.

    I like this product a lot, but not as a tooth powder. Come to find out tooth powders are not my thing.That being said I did find an awesome alternative use for this! I have sinus problems and I often get a sore throat due to drainage. I gargle with warm saltwater to help sooth my throat. I decided to add some of this to half a cup of warm saltwater mainly to help with the taste, but it also has peppermint oil in it which has pain relieving qualities.Let me tell you that it work a lot better than just plain warm saltwater and leaves you with a better taste in your mouth too!

    Even after reading all the good reviews, I didn’t expect much from this product and was really just looking for a light weight travel toothpaste. I ordered the Licorice Mint flavor, tried it, and this will now be the only toothpaste I ever use.I have sensitive teeth and gums and I didn’t have any problems at all adjusting to this powdered tooth cleaner. My teeth felt cleaner than they ever have with toothpaste.The only drawback is the circular plastic tub the powder comes in. It’s extremely difficult to open. Definitely not something you want to struggle with twice a day. I solved the problem by transferring the powder to a small Tupperware container. You could probably also just use a Ziploc bag.

The container can be difficult to work with and one of my kids put the lid on crooked which required us to destroy it to get it open.     Love this! The flavor is great. I was using (and still do) the cinnamon one but once I tried the licorice, I was hooked on that flavor. This does take some getting used to because you do not rinse your mouth after brushing. This is so the product can stay on your teeth and gums and help build your enamel back up. I bought it because I was having a lot of tooth sensitivity as well as developing mouth sores--pretty much like you'd get if you had eaten a lot of acidic foods like lemons. After some reading, I realized the fluoride could be contributing to the frequent mouth issues and that this product could help build up my enamel and decrease the sensitivity, so I decided to go off commercial toothpaste and try this. It's been really good. I don't have the tooth sensitivity anymore and the frequency of sores has decreased, both of which I attribute to getting off the chemicals in commercial pastes and using this product to go more natural. If you hate black licorice, this flavor won't be for you, but there are a bunch of others to choose from.

    For a long time I have looked for a healthy way to brush my teeth. Products that say not to swallow, have always concerned me. Flouride concerns me. I also have tooth sensitivity. I love Frau Fowler, because it seems they share these concerns, as well, but instead of remaining a persnickety consumer, she fixed the problem. This is impressive and VERY appreciated by those of us that prefer to complain while we keep searching and trying.I have Mouth Medic and Licorice Mint. I use them interchangeably. Both are wonderful. I have been using Frau Fowler for about three weeks. I will continue to use!!! In the meantime, my teeth do get very shiny. My sensitivity is noticeably reduced, though not gone. I read that with long term use, the sensitivity will continue to diminish. The whiteness is great. I am not a bleacher, but I do hate how stained my teeth can get from tea, coffee. I usually use an herbal rinse to help with this, but have not needed it since using Frau Fowler.Thank You Frau Fowler for the quality, care, time and work that was and continues to be invested.     I really like this. I got the licorice flavour and it's pleasant. My teeth feel clean and fresh. I thought it would be strange to not rinse it out but it really isn't. I read in other reviews it's so salty but I didn't really find that. I have been using natural toothpastes and powders for a long time tho.For a traveller like me it's great. I have been eliminating plastic from my toiletries and so I am happy about the tin. It could use a redesign but it's not as bad as I thought. Hopefully it won't get rusty here in the tropics..Anyway I recommend it and will order again.

    Unfortunately I found out that I needed some deep scaling when I went to the dentist. The mouthwash that they gave me had a side effect of yellowing the teeth among other nasty things. Since using this tooth powder I can tell the difference. My gums are no longer sensitive nor bleeding. When I go back to the periodontist I Will update this review to let you know how the visit went.

    Love this tooth powder! I have used several on the market, and made my own, but this is my favorite. It makes your mouth feel clean for a long time, and tastes great.My only complaint/ suggestion for improvement is the packaging. It's winter and in the midwest, that means dry hands. The outside of the container is so smooth that sometimes my hands just slip and it's hard to open. It would be easier with ridges on the outside.
